Lady Gaga on the end of Britney Spears' conservatorship: 'I'm so happy she gets to have the future that she wants now'

While everyone was abuzz over House of Gucci at the New York City premiere Tuesday night, Lady Gaga took a brief moment to show Britney Spears some love.

"I don't like to speak about my private relationships with people, but what I will say is this: Mental health is important and should not be used against anyone," Gaga told Lauren Zima of Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet. "I care for her. and I wish her all the best. And I'm so happy she gets to have the future that she wants now."

Spears' conservatorship of estate and person, which had been in place since October 2008, was terminated by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny on Friday:

Gaga reacted to the news Saturday morning:

In House of Gucci, Gaga portrays Patrizia Reggiani, who organized a murder-for-hire plot that killed her ex-husband, Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver) in 1995. She was convicted in 1998 and served 18 of her 26-year sentence before her release from prison in 2016.

Directed by Ridley Scott, the film is officially described as "inspired by the shocking true story of the family empire behind the Italian fashion house of Gucci. Spanning three decades of love, betrayal, decadence, revenge, and ultimately murder, we see what a name means, what it’s worth, and how far a family will go for control."

House of Gucci also stars Salma Hayek, Jared Leto and Al Pacino. The film hits theaters Nov. 24. See looks from the New York City premiere below.
