Mckenna Grace promises 'Hunger Games' fans that her 'Sunrise on the Reaping' character is in good hands

Mckenna Grace has been involved in some incredible projects, both in film and television, so fans were ecstatic when she was cast as Maysilee Donner in the adaptation of Suzanne Collins' newest prequel, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Now, she's sharing her reaction and her promise to loyal fans of the franchise.

THE HUNGER GAMES: SUNRISE ON THE REAPING will revisit the world of Panem 24 years before the events of The Hunger Games, starting on the morning of the reaping of the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell.

"I am truly so excited to be joining this franchise, and it is not something I take lightly. I am a HUGE fan of Hunger Games," she expressed to FLAUNT. "It’s such an honor to be a part of this, but also to be taking on such a fan-favorite character. I’ve read the book at least three times and have done so much research into all the fan headcanons. I love the fan film! It means so much to be playing this role, and I promise to Hunger Games fans that Maysilee is in good hands. I promise to give it my all. I’ve already dove headfirst into prep."

The rest of the cast so far includes Joseph Zada, Ralph Fiennes, Whitney Peak, Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, Molly McCann, Iona Bell, Lili Taylor, Ben Wang, Maya Hawke, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Jesse Plemons, Glenn Close, Billy Porter, Jhaleil Swaby, Laura Marcus, Percy Daggs IV, Rada Rae, Sky Frances, Tatyana Muzondo, Alina Reid, Salimou Thiam, John Doeble, Kaine Buffonge, Kara Tointon, Smylie Bradwell, Jeffrey Hallman, Serafin Mishiev, Scot Greenan, Grace Ackary, Melody Chikakane Brown, Jefferson White, Iris Apatow, Edvin Ryding, Jax Guerrero, and Sandra Förster.
