"One Battle After Another" trailer: Leonardo DiCaprio is out for justice in new Paul Thomas Anderson movie

For the popcorn flick aficionados, cups runneth over in the summer and right now we have supermen, fantastical quartets, and worlds teeming with Jurassic elements all over theaters. For lovers of "cinema," awards fare, and quasi-auteurs (no filmmaker is truly an island), though, the event of 2025 is Paul Thomas Anderson's "One Battle After Another." The first trailer got the Letterboxd crowd hyped and showed Leonardo DiCaprio in rare form. Now the second official trailer is here:

Well nothing about the second trailer would seem to diminish enthusiasm for the movie. It's a little more explanatory, in terms of plot, and it features more of Sean Penn's antagonistic character. Plus, Tom Cruise gets a shout out, so that's fun. Anderson has mixed high drama with comedy in the past, but there seems to be more action in "One Battle After Another" than is usual. That being said, "There Will Be Blood" had plenty of action in its own way.

"One Battle After Another" comes out September 26. All we hope is that Warner Bros. doesn't get the itch to release another trailer that reveals too much more of the plot. So far, so good.
