Are you looking for a super chill board game where you can build a world that’s far better than ours? If so, then we have the perfect solution for you. Critical Role’s tabletop gaming imprint Darrington Press is releasing Solar Gardens, a tile-drafting board game, on July 31. Solar Gardens allows 2-5 players to become a “visionary architect specializing in carbon-neutral engineering to build a rooftop garden in harmony with nature.”
Now that sounds like a vibe. Players will use their imagination and strategy to make their garden the prettiest and most environmentally conscious. Solar Gardens has a playtime of about 30-45, which means it is a perfect one to play on a random night after work.
It was developed by Eric Slauson, designed by Alex Cutler, and illustrated by Daniel Clarke, and is made of biodegradable, plastic-free materials. Thanks to a partnership with the National Forest Foundation’s Sapling Program, each purchased copy of Solar Gardens helps fund reforestation efforts in US national parks.
Solar Gardens is currently available for pre-order at Darrington Press Guild stores and Critical Role shops in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and the EU. The game retails for $44.99.
