As we approach the release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Pedro Pascal reveals that he has not actually seen the finished version of the movie just yet.
"I’m getting an inkling of excitement because it seems to reflect what our common goal was, and what we want to share, which is all of our f------ hearts on a platter within this genre. You just never know if people are going to be disgusted by your heart or not," he expressed to Vanity Fair. "I’m more aware of disgruntlement around my casting than anything I’ve ever done. 'He’s too old. He’s not right. He needs to shave.'"
Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired,
retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” introduces Marvel’s First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.
After The Fantastic Four: First Steps, the actor will be seen alongside Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn in Avengers: Doomsday.
Marvel Cinematic Universe legend Robert Downey Jr. will be returning to the franchise for Avengers: Doomsday as the movie's big bad. "He’s just so immediately generous and inviting that you feel like you can be afraid, you can be hungry, you can be ambivalent," Pascal says of his co-star.
Meanwhile, Downey commented, "Pascal’s slow trajectory to becoming a household name who is on a wildly hot streak kind of reaffirms my faith in our industry."
You can see The Fantastic Four: First Steps in theaters on July 25.
