Whenever Tom Cruise does something other than filming a movie or promoting a movie, it feels odd. At this point, Cruise only seems to exist to make films and then try to get people to see films in theaters. However, Cruise recently found himself in attendance at one of the Oasis reunion shows at Wembley Stadium in London. This reunion tour , which sees Liam and Noel Gallagher burying the hatchet, is a massive music event. What's notable about Cruise being at the Oasis show, other than it feeling odd that Cruise might be some sort of Oasis super-fan, is that one of the things the Gallaghers used to agree on was thinking Cruise is a terrible actor.
The Gallaghers' hate for Cruise as an actor was canonized in the 2007 documentary "Lord Don't Slow Me Down," a chronicling of an Oasis tour. In the documentary, Noel stated, "He’s a little f------, and he’s not been in one good film in his entire career." Liam, in a rare moment of agreement with his brother, noted, "I hate Tom Cruise....Him and Michael Owen."
Why Liam decided to throw in a shot at soccer player Michael Owen is uncertain. It's probably just that the Gallaghers are world-class haters, including hate for each another. Reportedly, Liam and Cruise once discussed the incident when they ran into one another in 2009, so Cruise is aware of their feelings.
In spite of it all, Cruise went to Wembley to see Oasis. Perhaps to be a part of the event? It's weird to imagine Cruise actually liking music. However, maybe he's been a Britpop fan this whole time. The hatchet seems to be buried, at least on Cruise's end of things. Catch the Gallaghers in the right mood, though, and we bet they'll still have some negative stuff to say about the actor.
