The first trailer has released for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, a epic new video game starring major Marvel superheroes.

Developed by Skydance New Media and Marvel Games, you’ll play as both Captain America and Black Panther in 1943 as they team up to take down Nazis across Axis-controlled Paris.

They’re not the same characters we know from the films, however. This is an original spin, albeit with Marvel’s blessing, so don’t expect to see Chris Pratt don the iconic Captain America cowl.

Marvel Games

As per the official description: “In the chaos of war, worlds collide. Skydance New Media and Marvel Games share an original story where an ensemble of four heroes must overcome their differences and form an uneasy alliance to confront their common enemy.”

Only two heroes feature in the trailer, so who are the others? Since this is set during WW2, it precludes a lot of fan-favorites from appearing. However, if Marvel’s animated series What If…? is anything to go by, there are plenty of heroes kicking around in the ‘40s.

Captain America’s super spy girlfriend Peggy Carter might be another of the four playable characters - even better if she’s taken the super soldier serum and become the powerful Captain Britain. Maybe the game will go mystic and feature The Ancient One from Doctor Strange, who’s also alive at this time.
