Everybody's talking about Twisters – the hit summer blockbuster starring Daisy Edgar-Jones and Glen Powell – which takes inspiration from the 1996 film Twister and follows two storm chasers in Oklahoma who are on a mission to remedy the devastation catastrophic storms are causing their state.
Edgar-Jones and Powell star as Kate and Tyler in an opposites-attract/enemies-to-lovers style narrative, which showcases Powell – once again – turning on the charm to win over his co-star – and in turn – the audience.
Powell's magnetism in recent films, Hit Man and Anyone But You, has got him a new set of fans, but Twisters secured it with one particular moment which sent the internet into a frenzy.
The White T-Shirt slow walk to the car was actually an on-the-fly decision, from director Lee Isaac Chung, Powell told Variety.
"I did have a jacket in the scene," Powell said. "[Lee Isaac Chung] said, 'I think we're going to toss the jacket out.' I was like, 'Cool.' And he goes, 'Also, there's going to be a rain machine.' I was like, 'OK.' But then I was like, 'Wait a minute.'"
Isaac's last-minute choice paid off in spades, as it's all the internet is talking about.
My favorite part of Twisters was when they stopped everything to show us Glen Powell in a white t shirt in the rain pic.twitter.com/BqTsfyn7K2

There's a bit in the new Twisters movie where Glen Powell walks out in the rain wearing a white t-shirt and a cowboy hat before looking directly into the camera and bud... They done got themselves a new movie star. pic.twitter.com/JzLaG0XZaz

I enjoyed Twisters, but I have some THOUGHTS. Will have to share them with friends who have seen it. It’s good fun though! There was a scene with Glen Powell in a white t-shirt that made me say “Oh man” out loud and my son said “What?” and I whispered “He’s just really hot” pic.twitter.com/inqTaRPKvy

However, the white t-shirt wasn't enough to distract from the major talking point out of Twisters' opening weekend: where was the kissing?
Audiences were on tenterhooks throughout the film, waiting for the sizzling chemistry between Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones to manifest in a kiss. However, the credits rolled without Tyler and Kate sharing so much as a peck.
"It stops the film from ever sinking into cliche," Daisy Edgar-Jones said in an interview, "They've gotta go chase, there's another storm on the way".
Powell wouldn't have objected to kissing, however. "I raised my hand, and she said no," Powell said. "There's always time for kissing," he continued.

What sent fans even deeper into a spiral was that there's documented evidence that a kiss was on the cards.
A video uploaded by @sydglenx on X (formerly known as Twitter) shows that Lee Isaac Chung did film a kiss between Tyler and Kate for his ending, even if the final product doesn't choose to use it.

So why did the kiss not make it in? You'll have to ask Steven Spielberg.
In an interview with Collider, Daisy Edgar-Jones said, "I think it was a Spielberg note, wasn't it?"
Powell added to the conversation, saying, "I also think that this movie is not about them finding love. It's returning Kate to the thing that she loves, which is storm chasing".
"I feel like a kiss would be unrepresentative of the right goal," Powell said, "It's a good Spielberg note. It's why Spielberg... y'know, that kid's still in this game."
Spielberg served as executive producer on the film, and it appears it was his suggestion that the film end the way that it did.
So for @djmecca on X, who suggested "an investigation into what happened here", you'll have to ask Spielberg what's up.
I loved TWISTERS but there needs to be a tribunal, an investigation into what happened here. Someone needs to go to jail. https://t.co/GCRBip1RnC
