Wolfgang Van Halen is understandably still grappling with the unimaginable loss of his father, Eddie Van Halen, the legendary guitarist and songwriter for the legendary rock band bearing his name.
Wolfgang Van Halen publicly confirmed his father's passing at 65 years old after a "long and arduous battle with cancer" through a tweet posted on Oct. 6, 2020:

The 30-year-old, who is also a musician, previously defended Van Halen's legacy against what he felt to be an inadequate tribute during the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards in March:
Van Halen was married to actress Valerie Bertinelli, with whom he shared Wolfgang, from 1981 until their divorce was finalized in 2007—though they had been separated since 2001. Bertinelli and her son opened up to People in June about how grieving together has bonded them tighter.
"My girlfriend and I pretty much go over to my mom's house every day to see her and play with her cats that we love," Wolfgang said.
"Besides the fact that he is ridiculously talented, I'm most proud of his kindness and thoughtfulness," Bertinelli added. "I think we both like to find humor in the absurd. This world is a seriously crazy place and it's easier to get through it by finding it funny and absurd. Sometimes laughing is better than crying."
