U.S. Figure Skater Amber Glenn Reveals Result of Her Actions at Winter Olympics

Apart from her elite talent on the ice, Glenn also drew a lot of attention for what she did during the Winter Games closing ceremony. It was a mixed bag of reactions from the fans after Glenn decided to open packs of Magic: The Gathering cards during the event. Some viewers called her out for her unexpected actions during the ceremony.

Magic: The Gathering fans, however, loved Glenn’s decision to represent the game on the grandest of stages. Wizards of the Coast (WotC), the card game’s publisher and creator, also appreciated the very public shoutout from the Olympic gold medalist.

On Sunday, Glenn revealed the result of her actions at the ceremony. She shared an unboxing video of a massive gift package from WotC and its parent company, Hasbro.

"As many of you know, I posted some Magic: The Gathering content from the Olympics," Glenn said in an Instagram video. "That was packs I bought myself, and I have spent an outrageous amount of money on cardboard over the years."  

Glenn also mentioned how her beloved dog is named after a Magic: The Gathering card, Ukkima the Stalking Shadow.

At the end of the video, Glenn flexed the huge haul she received. It included a number of limited-edition boxes and some crossover products. The gift package contains thousands of cards and could easily be worth thousands of dollars.

Glenn thanked WoTC and Hasbro for the amazing surprise. The decorated ice skater’s MTG heart was clearly filled with love and appreciation.  

Glenn has a bit of time to enjoy her haul. However, the former Grand Prix champion will need to get back to training soon. The World Figure Skating Championships are coming up towards the end of this month. Glenn will compete in the highly anticipated event scheduled for March 24 to 29 in Prague, Czech Republic.
