Carlos Alcaraz has been doing lots of different things since winning the Australian Open last month.

Alcaraz won the Australian Open for the first time after beating Novak Djokovic in the final, enabling him to make history as the youngest man to complete the Career Slam.

The Spaniard has not played a tournament since winning the Australian Open, with Alcaraz pulling out of the Rotterdam Open.

Ahead of his return to court at the Qatar Open, Alcaraz visited Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz in Bahrain for a Formula One (F1) pre-season testing event.

Carlos Alcaraz reveals what his experience was like at Formula One testing in Bahrain

After travelling to Doha for the Qatar Open, Alcaraz was asked about his visit to the F1 event in his pre-tournament press conference.

This included Alcaraz being questioned over whether he would like to drive an F1 car, but he suggested he would rather be in the passenger seat.

“Well, it was a great, it was a really cool experience, to be honest,” said Alcaraz. “I just really like Formula 1. Because of our schedule, to attend to a race is really difficult.

“But right now that I had the chance to go to the testing, see how they working when they are off-season testing the car, what they’re doing with the car, just trying to be at the 100 percent for the first race.

“It was impressive, to be honest, to see some drivers that I just know them, and wish them the best of luck for the season.

“And, yeah, why not? I would love to. If they’re driving, I would be more than happy to see the adrenaline that you can feel when you’re in that kind of cars, or whatever cars it is, but when you feel the real fast, you know, it’s happening.”

What Carlos Alcaraz predicted would happen to Fernando Alonso three years ago that still hasn’t happened

This is not the first time that Alcaraz and Alonso’s paths have crossed, as they also had an exchange on social media just three years ago.

After Alcaraz beat Tommy Paul at the Miami Open he wrote on the camera lens, “33? Soon.”

It was later clarified by Alcaraz that he was predicting F1 legend Alonso to win the 33rd race of his career.

Alonso responded by saying, “Lock this man up!!! (laughing face emojis). You’re a phenomenon! Let’s go!!!”

At 44 years old, Alonso is still an active F1 driver, but he is still yet to capture that 33rd win nearly three years later.

The last race that Alonso won was at the Spanish Grand Prix in 2013.

Alonso will be hoping to change this when the 2026 F1 season begins next month in Melbourne, Australia.
