Max Verstappen achieved a great turnaround in performance after coming back from the summer break. Red Bull’s performance has continued to improve, especially in the past couple of races. Verstappen is currently on a two-race win streak and can continue it in the coming races. Despite a dominant outing at the Azerbaijan GP, the Dutchman made a shocking confession about Milton Keynes and their performances in recent races.
The start to the 2025 season was decent for Max Verstappen as he achieved two coveted race wins. However, mid-way through the year, Verstappen lost out on massive performance and was unable to score any significant results. The Dutchman had insisted that his results did not matter anymore as his championship chances deteriorated significantly.
But after a dominant outing in the past two races, Max Verstappen was delighted with the pace and looked hopeful of better performances in the coming sessions. However, the Dutchman reflected on the massive ups and downs for Red Bull and himself since the beginning of the season. Verstappen claimed that the season was swinging left and right for the constructor, with the recent two races being an exception.
This season has been really swinging left and right, but at least now two weekends in a row, it’s been going really well.
Max Verstappen told Formula 1
Verstappen emphasized that the Monza circuit of the Italian GP isn’t particularly a strong suit for Red Bull and Co. Still, the team put forth a dominant performance as the Dutchman achieved a record-breaking victory at the Temple of Speed. As such, winning in Italy remained a big plus for the Austrian constructor, and they can hope for much better days in the coming races of the 2025 season.
I guess together with Monza. Yep. Monza has never really been a particularly strong track for us, so to do that, that was already a big plus.
Max Verstappen added
The Singapore GP is up next after the Azerbaijan GP, as Max Verstappen hopes to carry forward his winning momentum of recent races. Verstappen doesn’t have a proven track record of winning in Singapore, but he can quickly turn it around if the car performs well. As such, the reigning world champion talks about his chances to succeed at the tricky night race at the Marina Bay circuit.
Max Verstappen reflected that he had never won a race at the Singapore GP despite Red Bull winning a couple of races as a team. The Dutchman insisted that the conditions at the upcoming race were completely different, with the circuit requiring very high downforce. Moreover, the higher degradation of tires could witness a problematic outing for Verstappen. Regardless, the 27-year-old is excited for the final races of the season and ending the season on a high note.
Well, I have never won. Red Bull has won, right? We’ll see. It’s completely different. High downforce. A lot of deg on the tyres, so we’ll see what happens. I really don’t know at the moment.
Max Verstappen noted
Red Bull still has a lot of work pending in order to return to their winning ways. Max Verstappen has reduced the championship deficit to 69 points to the championship leader, Oscar Piastri. Now, a string of dominant performances, coupled with some mediocre outings by the McLarens, can set Verstappen on the path for a championship contention. Still, the Dutchman isn’t overconfident about battling it for the title.
