McLaren insists Oscar Piastri’s support to Lando Norris will be an ‘investment’ amidst number 1 driver dilemma

Now, Andrea Stella has asserted that Piastri is the future of the team. As such, the McLaren boss insisted that the Australian driver must give his support to Norris in the right situations. Moreover, Stella claimed that this support would be an investment for Oscar Piastri’s long-term future with the team.

McLaren wants to be ‘open and transparent’ over managing its drivers in title fight

McLaren allowed its drivers to race at the Italian GP in accordance with its ‘Papaya rules.’ Andrea Stella reckoned that the Woking-based team wanted to stay open and transparent regarding its driver management to make sure that fans understand the process. Although, Stella highlighted that the team would keep some confidentiality to itself as well.

We want to be open, we want to be transparent, give everyone some sort of understanding of what is going on, but we want to retain some sort of confidentiality for ourselves. Andrea Stella explained

Certainly, McLaren needs to find a solution to its current dilemma. The British team needs to make Piastri understand its driver situation and how helping Norris would be the best way out in the title fight. However, it remains to be seen how things pan out in the next race in Baku.
