Toto Wolff just pulled back the curtain on one of Formula 1’s most private relationships—his friendship with Lewis Hamilton. In a candid moment from the Business of Sport podcast, the Mercedes team principal revealed that Hamilton not only confides in him about racing but also about his love life.

“I’m living a different life through his eyes,” Wolff said, before adding that Hamilton often shows him who he’s flirting with and asks, “Should I go for this girl or not?” Wolff’s response? “Yes, you should—and tell me how it was.”

The lighthearted moment took fans by surprise, especially given Hamilton’s famously low-key approach to dating in recent years.

After his high-profile relationship with pop star Nicole Scherzinger ended in 2014, the seven-time World Champion has kept things mostly under wraps.

That hasn’t stopped the speculation, of course. Hamilton was frequently linked to Colombian singer Shakira in 2023 after they were seen together several times, including at the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona. But neither part confirmed a relationship.

Wolff’s comments have sparked buzz across social media, with fans enjoying this rare glimpse into Hamilton’s personal world. More than just a team boss, Wolff seems to play the role of confidant and friend—especially when it comes to matters of the heart.
