Watch: 'You joking,' Nicholas Hamilton breaks silence on how his brother Lewis Hamilton told him about the huge 2025 Ferrari deal

Lewis Hamilton , the seven-time F1 world champion, is all that anyone can talk about. His move to Ferrari from 2025 onward has pretty much broken the web with people still finding it extremely hard to wrap their heads around it.

While the world has reacted and is still reacting, Lewis Hamilton‘s brother, Nicholas Hamilton, recently came forward and talked about how he got to hear about the news.

In a live chat with people via a social media platform, Nicholas said,

It was surprising. Lewis called me and I was at dinner, so I said hey bro I'll call you when I can. He said I can really do with speaking to you now. And so, I said okay, give me five minutes. He goes are you in a place where you can talk? Can you talk without anyone hearing? I said yeah and then he said, I'm going to Ferrari in 2025. I was like wow, oh my god, are you joking?

Nicholas’s reaction is pretty much how everyone all around the world reacted to the 39-year-old’s mega move to the Fred Vasseur-led Ferrari F1 team. Moreover, the news is still a bit unfathomable to the die-hard supporters of the Brackley-based Mercedes outfit.

Lewis Hamilton has reportedly signed a 2+1 deal at Ferrari

While people have been going bonkers over the departure of Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes, he has signed a multi-year deal at Ferrari. This much has been made known by the Maranello-based outfit itself.

However, when it comes to the other details regarding the contract, nothing much has been made known. As per reports, Hamilton has signed a 2+1 contract with the Italian team that will guarantee him a seat until the end of the 2026 season. There is an option to extend it by one year as well if things turn out well.

Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari is undoubtedly one of the biggest off-track happenings of the last decade. No one ever expected Hamilton to leave Mercedes given the kind of success he has enjoyed with them over the years. But it has happened, and considering this, there will be several storylines based around Ferrari and the Brit during the upcoming 2024 F1 season.
