The first round of the NFL Draft started on Thursday night, with the Las Vegas Raiders selecting Indiana Hoosiers quarterback Fernando Mendoza at No. 1 overall. The NFL Draft ended on Saturday night, with the conclusion of the seventh round.

The Cowboys got a ton of praise for taking Ohio State safety Caleb Downs. The Cowboys traded up to No. 11 overall to get the All-American defensive back. The Browns, meanwhile, were getting a lot of praise for their savvy moves, too.

Three NFL teams were given "failing" grades for their 2026 NFL Draft performances:

  1. Los Angeles Rams
  2. Minnesota Vikings
  3. Houston Texans

The Rams led the way with the worst 2026 NFL Draft, as they took Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson at No. 13 overall, despite having Matthew Stafford behind center.

Los Angeles is thinking toward the future, of course, but they are also ready to win now. The Rams got crushed for their thought process, though.
