San Francisco 49ers special teams coordinator Brant Boyer met privately with Syracuse punter Jack Stonehouse on Monday, according to Ryan Fowler.

"San Francisco has expressed interest in Stonehouse 'throughout the process,' and the team is expected to add a punter either through the draft or in the UDFA bucket," Fowler wrote.

The 49ers did not re-sign veteran punter Thomas Morstead this offseason, instead adding Corliss Waitman in March. However, the team appears to be continuing its evaluation of long-term options at the position.

Stonehouse spent five collegiate seasons between Missouri and Syracuse, redshirting with the Tigers in 2021. Over his career, he totaled 200 punts for 9,006 yards, averaging 45.0 yards per punt, per Sports Reference.

He also recorded 16 touchbacks and placed 58 punts inside the 20-yard line.

In 2025, Stonehouse delivered his most productive season, punting 59 times for 2,780 yards and a career-best 47.1-yard average. He added six touchbacks and 14 punts inside the 20, earning first-team All-ACC honors.
