If you’re not building, then you’re falling behind. That is the usual thought process in bigtime college athletics. Syracuse has been building and yesterday unveiled their new Football Performance Center for the first time:

First look at our state-of-the-art Football Performance Center, thanks to the generosity of John and Laura Lally along with the Legends Society! pic.twitter.com/Nt0fQPGt5o
The team got its first look at the facility, which is located in the John A. Lally Athletics Complex, on Sunday night. It features a new locker room, athletic training room, dining center, position meeting rooms, offices and player lounge, among other amenities.
As usual, something like this wouldn’t have been possible if not for an extremely generous donation. The complex is named after John Lally, who graduated in 1982. He and his wife, Laura Lally, gave a $25 million gift commitment in 2019. The official ribbon cutting for the facility will be on April 12th.
