For the 125th time of this historic rivalry, the No. 22 Army Black Knights will take on the Navy Midshipmen.
Last week Army won the AAC Championship over Tulane 35-14. The only blemish on it's 11-1 record is a loss to No. 5 Notre Dame. The Black Knights have the No. 1 ranked rushing offense is the country, averaging a whopping 314 yards per game and totaling 44 touchdowns on the season.
Navy had a solid season overall at 8-3, but stumbled down the stretch a bit as it lost three of it's final five games. The Midshipmen also have a great rushing offense, ranking eighth in the nation with a 248-yards per game average. They are hoping to get starting quarterback Blake Horvath for this game, but his status is currently up in the air.
Here are the best odds, bets and predictions for this matchup.
*Odds from BetMGM and subject to change
Army: -250
Navy: +200
These teams are extremely familiar with each other not only because they play every year, but because they run basically the same triple option offensive scheme. Navy badly needs Horvath in this game to have a shot to win.
If he plays, this game likely comes down to which team plays better on defense. Army's No. 11 run defense is significantly better than Navy's, which ranks at 85th. That is a tremendous advantage for the Black Knights, who I think will win and cover the spread, so I'll avoid the moneyline.
Army: -6.5 (-115)
Navy: +6.5 (-105)
Even if Horvath plays in this game, he'll likely be a bit limited. I think Navy will hang tough for a while, but Army is just too good and should be able to pull away by the fourth quarter to cover the spread.
Over: -115
Under: -105
Big plays will be scarce in this matchup as both teams will be committed to the run game. Given that they have similar offenses, both defenses should be well prepared. I'll bet the under here.
