Tarleton State looked great.

It needed a half to get rolling, but it put away Portland State in FCS Week 0 with a great all-around performance on the road. There's a difference, though, in having to deal with a loaded Army team that has game film to work off of.

The Knights have a few key losses from last year's 12-win team - the best in the history of the program, at least victory-wise - but nothing stops.

This is the game to get ready for a trip to Kansas State, dealing with a team that might be a tad shaky after the rough loss to Iowa State in Ireland.

Why Tarleton State Will Win

The Texans didn't have any issues in the win over Portland State, and in this, they'll have to keep up the balance.

The line did a fantastic job for the ground game - cranking out over 300 yards and three touchdowns - and the defense did a great job of not breaking after bending a bit.

Army might fill in the pieces every year, but losing star running back Kanye Udoh to Arizona State, and being without Captain America - quarterback Bryson Daily - will take some getting used to. But ...

Why Army Will Win

Army might hold the ball all game long.

The Knights are always great at controlling the clock and winning the time of possession battle, and in this, they should have it for well over 35 minutes.

It's not like Portland State dictated the tempo against the Texans in Week 0, but it was able to keep the offense on the field enough to at least slow things down a little bit in the first half.

Army will keep battering away, the run defense will hold up against the explosive Tarleton backfield, and ...

The last Army loss to an FCS team was the 2015 opener to Fordham. Tarleton State won't put an end to that, but it has just enough pop to make this interesting.

The defense won't be able to hold up for a full 60 minutes with the Knights battering away in several long, time-consuming drives.
