Several top members of the golf world recently competed in the Tour Championship, including the world No. 1, Scottie Scheffler.
Scheffler is widely regarded as one of the most talented golfers since the likes of Tiger Woods, but last weekend, Tommy Fleetwood stood between Scheffler and another PGA Tour victory.
The No. 1-ranked golfer finished tied at No. 4 in the Tour Championship with Cameron Young and Corey Conners.
After the Tour Championship loss, big news emerged on Scheffler as well as another well-known name, Rory McIlroy.
Scheffler and McIlroy will be headlining a new team golf event in December.
"Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are headlining a new team golf event this December, per people familiar," Sports Business Journal reporter Josh Carpenter said. "Versant, the spinoff of cable networks from Comcast, is leading the event with some of the same groups that put on last year's 'Showdown.'"

Later in the description, Carpenter explained that the December event will be showcased on Versant, the spinoff cable network of Comcast.
"Versant is putting on an all-star type event in Florida in mid-December, sources said, with involvement from the same event and production groups that put on 'The Showdown' last year involving LIV and PGA Tour players," Carpenter said.
In the Tour Championship, Scottie Scheffler finished behind Tommy Fleetwood, Patrick Cantley and Russell Henley in the final standings.
Fleetword earned the $10 million purse for his first PGA Tour victory in his 164th career start on tour.
