When it comes to the major sports leagues and their draft process, we often hear of weird questions being asked to players by scouts, front office personnel, and others.

Whether these are to see what kind of personality the player truly has or they are simply messing with the player, there are often hilarious questions (and responses) that we hear about. Recently, an unnamed NHL team asked players what their Snapchat score was, and what their Uber rating was.

Now, as Pitt basketball players Blake Hinson and Bub Carrington are preparing for tonight’s NBA Draft, they have been dealing with their fair share of questions, too. In an appearance on The Pittsburgh Basketball Show on PSN this week, Hinson spoke of one of the questions that had his brain in shambles.

“Not many things as far as basketball have caught me off guard, but I’ve gotten some wild questions,” Hinson said. “The most wild one was, a team asked me, ‘What animal would I describe myself as?’ I took a really long time to answer that, because I felt like there were so many wrong answers.”

As for his answer, Hinson was embarrassed to share.

“I don’t even want to say, you know what I’m saying. I ended up saying crocodile. Don’t even ask why. I drew a blank. I never thought I would ever get asked that a day in my life.”
