Tottenham Hotspur have just a week left in the summer transfer window to conclude any potential business. The North London club has been linked with a number of players throughout this summer but have not managed to get many of the deals over the line.
As things stand, Spurs have made just two major moves in the market – Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United and Joao Palhinha on loan from Bayern Munich. Both players have settled in very well into Thomas Frank’s team.
Of course, the club also made the signings of Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel permanent, but they can’t be counted as potential new arrivals. Now, it has been revealed that the club want to sign talented Atletico Madrid striker Alexander Sorloth.
Now, as per Tutto Juve, Tottenham have been handed a boost in the race to sign talented 29-year-old La Liga striker. Atletico Madrid have already lined up their replacement, should the Scandinavian number nine leave this summer.
Sorloth is a physically dominant striker who loves to score goals against the big teams. Should he leave for Tottenham Hotspur amid the interest, Atletico Madrid would then move for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic who is available this summer.
The Serbian striker has been a regular goalscorer in the Serie A over the years for both Fiorentina and Juventus but is in the final year of his contract in Turin. Signing him now on a bargain price is a realistic ploy for Atletico.

53 games | ⚽ 24 goals | 2 assists
At 6’4”, he’s a powerhouse striker – aerial threat, strong hold-up play & clinical in the box.
⚠️ Not the quickest, but a proven goalscorer in Spain & Germany.

As for Tottenham, Sorloth would add a lot of box-threat to Thomas Frank’s side. Richarlison isn’t a conventional number nine in that sense and although Dominic Solanke is, the Norwegian is even more physically imposing.
It helps that Richarlison is also capable of playing in the wide positions and can also play as a secondary striker behind one of Solanke or Sorloth. At the right price and with the right kind of squad role, the 29-year-old can be a valuable addition to the North London side.
Atletico Madrid identifying a replacement for Sorloth is an indirect indication that Tottenham are free to try and sign him this summer. It could all come down to the asking price and let’s wait and see how things play out.
