It's no secret that the Bengals' pass rush needs a boost. Louisville defensive end Ashton Gillotte could be an ideal mid-round target in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Gillotte ran a 4.63 40-yard dash at Louisville's Pro Day. The Bengals and the other 31 NFL clubs were in attendance according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
He also posted a 36.5-inch vertical leap (92nd percentile) and a 10-foot broad jump (84th percentile) at the 2025 NFL Combine.
"Productive and experienced, Gillotte shines with his ability to threaten the pocket. His rush isn’t overly complicated, but he can collapse the pocket with power, beat up the edge with violent hands and sneak past guards with snap quickness when playing inside," NFL.com's Lance Zierlein wrote. "He’s powerful but doesn’t have a solid anchor to hold his ground as a run defender. I’ve graded Gillotte as a 4-3 defensive end, but he has the athletic ability to stand and play 3-4 outside ‘backer."
The Bengals are certainly in the market for another defensive end. They prioritize players that can be quality run defenders and set the edge.
Gillotte fits that description. He's an intriguing target for the Bengals in rounds 3-4. The NFL Draft is starts on Thursday, April 24.
#Louisville edge Ashton Gillotte, a name that is already generating buzz as we get closer to the NFL Draft, ran a blazing 4.63 40-yard dash today at his Pro Day in front of representatives from all 32 NFL Clubs, source said.
