With three weeks remaining, we’re up to 53 bowl-eligible teams to fill the 82 available spots. There are still 43 teams within two wins of reaching the magic six-win mark: 27 five-win teams and 16 four-win teams.
The biggest challenge isn’t necessarily figuring out what teams in which bowls; it’s projecting the College Football Playoff field.
This week, I’m projecting Oregon (Big Ten), Texas (SEC), Miami (ACC), Colorado (Big 12) and Boise State (Mountain West/Group of Five) as the conference champions receiving the automatic bids.
Good luck to the committee determining which at-large teams make the cut. I’m sure their selections won’t be controversial. They never are.
