College Senior Dies In 'Horrifying' Balcony Fall

Tragedy has struck as college student who was just days away from graduating as he lost his life in a horrifying fall.

According to ABC News, Gaurav Jaisingh of Bentley University died after accidentally falling off a balcony in the Bahamas. Per the report, the Royal Bahamas Police Force has stated that the American student fell from the upper-level balcony while inside his hotel room with other roommates.

"He was found unresponsive on a lower floor," the police said.

Emergency services transported Jaisingh to a hospital, but he sadly passed away due to the injuries. An investigation into his death is ongoing.

Bentley University has released a statement, calling Jaisingh's death "an enormous tragedy" and offered to assist anyone who was impacted by his untimely death. The university offered condolences but said that it would respect his family's privacy.

"We share our deepest condolences with Gaurav’s family, friends and loved ones. While local authorities are investigating, it appears Gaurav accidentally fell from a balcony. We will share more information when available while respecting his family's privacy," the university said in a statement to ABC News.

"This is an enormous tragedy for our community. Bentley is providing resources for those who are impacted and encourages anyone who needs support to reach out to the university’s counseling center."

On his LinkedIn page, Jaisingh said that he was a native of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts and a member of Delta Sigma Pi. He was also a part of the school's South Asian Students Association.

"My name is Gaurav Jaisingh and I am a senior student at Bentley University pursuing a B.S in Finance along with a minor in Computer Information Systems. This summer, I completed the Summer 2024 Client Solutions Internship Program at FactSet. My strengths include time management, problem-solving, and collaboration with others. My involvements on campus include Delta Sigma Pi, Student Programs & Engagement, New Student Programs, and the South Asian Students Association," he wrote on his page.

He announced several months ago that he would be joining FactSet as a Client Solutions Associate on a full-time basis in their New York City office.

The Bentley University commencement is set to take place this Friday.
