Houston reliever Antoine Jean has been named a First‑Team All‑American by D1Baseball for the 2025 season — the only Big 12 player to be named to the team.
Jean transitioned to a full-time relief role under Houston pitching coach Woody Williams—a move that earned him Big 12 Pitcher of the Year and made him the first reliever in conference history to receive the honor.
Jean was electric out of the bullpen for the Cougars, racking up a 2.43 ERA over 63.0 innings while striking out 104 batters, good for a staggering 14.86 K/9 rate that ranked second nationally. He also held opposing hitters to a .162 average.
Jean led the Big 12 in nearly every major pitching metric, including ERA, WHIP, K/BB ratio, and hits allowed per nine innings. The southpaw also notched 12 scoreless outings and struck out at least five batters in 13 different appearances. His elite production earned him Big 12 Pitcher of the Year honors, making him the first reliever in conference history to win the award and solidifying his place as one of the nation’s premier bullpen arms.
