Texas quarterback Arch Manning hasn't even started a full season of college football, and yet, he's projected to be one of the top picks in the 2026 NFL Draft.
During the 2024 season, Texas coach Steve Sarkisian leaned on Manning when Quinn Ewers temporarily went down with an injury. The talented gunslinger completed 67.8% of his passes for 939 yards with nine touchdowns and two interceptions. He showed enough promise to get the majority of the football world excited for the 2025 regular season.
Although there's no guarantee Manning will actually live up to the hype at Texas, the Dallas Cowboys are quickly emerging as a suitor for him. The rumors only got louder on Thursday night.
Dez Bryant, who played for the Cowboys from 2010-2017, said he's convinced his former team will draft Manning.
"Arch Manning will have a star on his helmet," Bryant wrote on X. "Nobody can tell me different."
The Cowboys have a franchise quarterback in Dak Prescott, but he doesn't exactly fit their timeline - especially after the front office traded All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers.
Speaking of Parsons, that blockbuster trade has given Dallas the necessary ammo to move up the draft board in either 2026 or 2027. Jerry Jones will have four first-round picks to work with during that stretch.
"All bets are off with Jerry Jones," FOX host Jason McIntyre said. "The idea of Arch in Dallas is interesting."
Some people, such as Doug Kezirian, have considered the Cowboys a serious player in the Arch Manning sweepstakes since they named Brian Schottenheimer their head coach.

Last year, Archie Manning turned heads when he mentioned the Cowboys as a potential landing spot for his grandson. He eventually walked back his comments.
“That is something that kinda got outta hand,” the former New Orleans Saints quarterback said. “I have a sports bar in New Orleans and I was just being nice to a patron. I told him I hope Arch will play three years of college football and he said, ‘And then maybe to the Cowboys?’ I said, ‘That’d be fine with me.’ I didn’t know he was going to put that on TikTok.”
If Dallas is in position to select Manning at some point in the next two years, his family would probably be all for it. Not only would he get to stay in the Lone Star State, he'd have the luxury of playing for a big market. His uncle Eli knows a thing or two about that.
