The Dallas Cowboys lost one of the best interior linemen in the NFL this offseason. Zack Martin retired, and clearly, the team believed replacing him was priority number one. With the 12th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the team selected Alabama lineman Tyler Booker. While many thought the pick to be a bit of a reach, the Cowboys got one of the best players in the trenches in the draft. It didn’t take long for the team to officially sign him, inking him to a four-year deal on Friday.

According to Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz, the Dallas Cowboys signed Tyler Booker to a four-year, $22.5 million deal, which includes a $13 million signing bonus. Booker is the first player selected in the first round to officially sign a deal. For a team that usually draws things out with its players, the Cowboys moved quickly on this one. The offensive line has been a key factor in the team’s success over the past half-decade.
Booker will likely start at right guard, joining one of the youngest lines in the league. Last year’s first-round pick, Tyler Guyton, will be at left tackle with Terence Steele on the right side. Tyler Smith is projected to be the starting left guard, with second-year player Cooper Beebe the starting center. On paper, this is a formidable line, though it does hinge on the development of the younger players.
The Dallas Cowboys had a rough year all around last season. Much of it was due to injuries. Quarterback Dak Prescott missed most of the year with a devastating hamstring injury. CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons both missed time. Many key role players on both sides of the ball suffered injuries, leading to a poor finish.
While the injured players will be back, the Cowboys are in one of the toughest divisions in football. The Eagles and Commanders have their sights set on a Super Bowl, and even the Giants got better this offseason. Not only will the team need to stay healthy, but the team also needs to play better overall.
The Dallas Cowboys got this deal done quickly, which will help them focus on other parts of the offseason. They can now focus on the rest of the draft class and filling out the fringes of the roster.
