After three straight losses by the Penn State Nittany Lions to start Big Ten play, Micah Parsons, Micah Parsons’ former college coach, James Franklin, was fired by the school on Sunday.
It came on the heels of Penn State’s 22-21 defeat at the hands of the Northwestern Wildcats on Saturday. Before that, the Nittany Lions lost to the Oregon Ducks and the UCLA Bruins — both in embarrassing fashion.
On Sunday, Parsons finally shared his thoughts on Penn State’s decision to move on from Franklin.
“Regardless of the situation at hand, this one doesn’t feel right to me! Coach deserved better! My self and countless others wouldn’t be where we are today without Coach! Thank you. #Weareforever!” wrote the four-time Pro Bowler via X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
Parsons played two seasons with the Nittany Lions, both under Franklin, who recruited him to Penn State.
During his time at Penn State, Parsons had 6.5 sacks with 192 total tackles and five passes defended in 26 games combined from 2018 to 2019.
After opting out of the 2020 season, Parsons took his talents to the NFL, as he was taken 12th overall in the first round of the 2021 draft by the Dallas Cowboys.
