The Ole Miss football program has not won a National Championship since John Vaught led the team to a title in 1960. Still, the Rebels have produced some of the most impressive NFL talent in the college football landscape, especially over the last few decades.
On Friday, ESPN's Bill Connelly released his ranking of the best college quarterbacks of the 2000s, and Ole Miss landed two players on the list. These players were legendary Rebels quarterback and two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning, who was No. 52, and Jaxson Dart, who broke most of Manning's records during his three-year tenure with the team and landed at No. 60.
Manning spent four years in Oxford from 2000 to 2003, and he broke the program's passing yards and touchdowns records, which were set by his predecessor, Romaro Miller. During his time as a Rebel, Manning completed 60.8% of his passes for 10,119 yards and 82 touchdowns, which still stands as the most in Ole Miss history.
Dart became a Rebel in 2022 and spent three seasons under center, totaling 10,617 passing yards, now the program record, and 72 touchdowns, which is second behind Manning. He is a hot commodity in the NFL Draft this year, and while he won't be the No. 1 pick like Manning was, he should still be selected in the first round and carve out a nice career for himself at the professional level.
