Eagles Young Lineman Labeled Breakout Candidate

The Philadelphia Eagles were able to win the second Super Bowl in franchise history this past season, and a big factor in their success was some spectacular play from their defense.

And that unit could be even better when the 2025 season comes.

In a recent article by PFF's Bradley Locker, he puts together a team full of players who he believes could break out in 2025. And one of the players he picks is Eagles third year defense lineman Moro Ojomo.

"As part of Philadelphia’s Super Bowl-winning campaign, Ojomo quietly played a critical role in a deep interior defender rotation," Locker wrote. "The former seventh-round pick ended the season with an 82.4 PFF pass-rushing grade, including an 83.8 PFF pass-rushing grade on true pass sets. Each of those figures ranked top 11 among all defensive linemen, and his 18.2% pass-rush win rate was the second-best among qualifiers, trailing only Chris Jones."

The interior of the Eagles' defensive line was a bit crowded in 2024, so Ojomo sat behind Jalen Carter and Milton Williams. But now that Williams has moved on to the New England Patriots, Ojomo could see more opportunities.

The 23-year-old defensive lineman tallied 20 talkies and five quarterback hits this past season while starting in just one game. If that is any indication of how he would play if he is given more snaps, the Eagles should be very happy.

Philadelphia is clearly the team to beat in 2025, and Ojomo could help the team defend the Lombardi Trophy with a breakout year in his third season.
