ECHL: Brett Davis Signs Overseas

In the 2025-26 season with the Rapid City Rush, Davis played in 68 games where he registered 20 goals and 28 assists for 48 points with 34 penalty minutes and a -17. Davis was also one of the alternate captains for the Rush and received the team’s Blaine Jarvis Heart and Soul Award, given to a player who resembles commitment to the game, determination, perseverance, professionalism, work ethic, and excellence in the locker room and community.

Davis was traded from the Florida Everblades to the Rush in the 2023-24 season after 33 games with the Everblades. He then went on to play in three seasons with the Rush, playing in a total of 118 games. He registered 36 goals and 49 assists with 85 points for 50 penalty minutes and a -34. Davis was an alternate captain in two of the three seasons with the Rush.

In the 2024-25 season, the Oakbank, Manitoba native spent part of the season in the AHL with the Calgary Wranglers. In 23 games with the Wranglers, Davis had three goals and two assists with six penalty minutes and a -3.

Through his entire ECHL career, Davis registered 39 goals and 59 assists for 98 points with 72 penalty minutes and a -33 through 151 games.

A Big Loss For Rapid City

Losing Davis could be a huge hit for the Rush as he was one of Rapid City’s top forwards. He was fifth in goals and points as well as fourth in assists. Davis was also a threat on the power play, where he had six goals and six assists. On top of being a threat on the ice, Davis was very involved in the community as he showed up to almost every event and interacted with lots of fans.

Going into next season, the Rush will need to find players to fill that hole that will be left with Davis going overseas.
