Arguably the top 2027 recruiting target for the Wisconsin football staff has been vocal recently about potentially starting to cut down on schools.

Monshun Sales is a blazing fast 2027 four-star receiver who currently holds the 11th overall ranking within the class. Sales is a composite five-star recruit and widely has been considered to be in competition with Ohio State commitment Jamier Brown for the top overall spot at receiver. Currently, it is only a matter of time before Sales is officially a five-star target for many programs.

However, not every program will have a chance to speak with Sales moving forward as the recruit has flirted with cutting down to ten schools. Cutting down to a smaller list of schools is a common practice during the recruiting process as often too many offers flood in for the recruit to consider.

Sales holds 35 scholarship offers, but stated that a cut down to ten programs could be happening “earlier than expected” on social media. Wisconsin has been one of the more active programs in terms of recruiting Sales, and the commitment of longtime friend and 2026 recruit Tayshon Bardo has been pivotal for the Badgers. Bardo has quietly become a handy extension of the recruiting staff for Wisconsin and the toughest challenge to date for the receiver will involve swaying Sales.

Can the Wisconsin Football Staff Land a Commitment From Monshun Sales?

While the Wisconsin football staff has done a great job keeping close contact with Sales and building a relationship, landing the recruit may come down to some factors that the program cannot hit.

Sales is currently one of the most recruited and offered athletes within the 2027 recruiting class with no signs of slowing down anytime soon. The receiver has been incredibly active this off-season as well, visiting programs and attending skills camps. Sales might be close to cutting down his list of schools, but that does not make the job of landing a commitment from the receiver any easier for Wisconsin.

Moving forward, the Wisconsin football staff will need to focus on staying close to the receiver and being a bug in his ear. Sales previously expressed an interest in joining a program that showed the same interest in his abilities and talent as he shows in them. If Wisconsin cannot show a strong interest in Sales, then the recruit will likely look elsewhere.
