Four LSU Gymnasts Named Postseason All-Americans
Jim Miron

Despite a disappointing loss in the semifinals, the LSU Tigers had four gymnasts named postseason All-Americans for their performance on Thursday night.

Haleigh Bryant, Aleah Finnegan, Konnor McClain and Kailin Chio earned a total of seven All-American honors.

Postseason All-American honors are given to the top performers on each event from the semifinals. First-team is made up of the first through fourth place finishers (plus ties) on each event while the second-team is made up of the fifth through eighth place finishers.

Bryant earned three Postseason All-American honors on vault, floor and the all-around. She now has 33 All-American honors to her name, the most in LSU program history.

Finnegan's 9.9375 on floor was good enough to earn her a spot on the First-Team All-American floor team. She now has 13 All-American titles to her name, five of which have come on floor.

McClain nabbed her sixth All-American honor on the balance beam with a 9.9000. It was her third beam title.

Chio earned two Postseason All-American honors in her freshman season with titles on vault and in the all-around. Add those to her five regular season All-American titles, and she's already racked up seven All-American honors as a freshman. Her vault score of 9.9750 was enough to earn her the individual NCAA Vault Championship. She became the third LSU freshman to ever win an individual NCAA title.

In total, these four racked up seven All-American honors on Thursday night. They ultimately fell short of their goal of winning the national championship, but these four performed their hearts out.
