The Green Bay basketball staff have extended a scholarship to a rising 2027 in-state recruit from Milwaukee who recently dominated on the court.
Deuce McDuffie, a currently unranked 2027 recruit, has slowly become a star for Rufus King High School and Team Herro and will be a player to watch during the upcoming season. McDuffie received his second scholarship to date after being extended by the Green Bay Phoenix staff. The forward received his first scholarship from Grambling State in November which kickstarted the recruiting process for McDuffie.
While the Green Bay basketball program is the second to offer McDuffie, the recruit has drawn heavy early interest from a handful of programs who have been impressed with the recruit.
According to McDuffie, the programs that have spoken to him are Bradley, Marquette, Nebraska, Northern Iowa, Saint Louis, Stony Brook, Syracuse, UCF, VCU, and Wisconsin.
The talented 6-foot-7-inch forward recently impressed with Rufus King against Bloom Township during the Marquette team camp. McDuffie displayed excellent offensive skills as the recruit continues to develop into a two-way scoring machine in the court.
Against Bloom Township, McDuffie was dropping long-range shots, hitting tough layups through contact, and slamming down massive dunks. The Green Bay basketball staff had been following McDuffie closely and extended a scholarship offer just days after the recruit exploded offensive during the Marquette team camp.
This upcoming season is going to be a pivotal one for the recruit, who very well could attract major local offers with the right performances. McDuffie could be on the cusp of breaking out nationally, but still needs time to add to his frame and perfect his game on the court before such a thing would likely occur. For the Green Bay basketball staff, extending the recruit a scholarship early and getting a foot in the door might be the only way to potentially keep the recruit close to home.
