Greta Gerwig is set to write and direct two Chronicles of Narnia films for Netflix which is rumored to begin filming this year and we now have our first piece of casting news via Baz Bamigboye at Deadline who is reporting out of the exclusive industry festival, Telluride.

Bamigboye reports that Louis Partridge has been cast in the project but didn't give any further information.

Partridge is the only talent currently listed on the film's IMDb, and he's down for the role of Digory Kirke which gives us our first clue of which direction Gerwig's adaptation will head in.

Kirke appears in C. S. Lewis's "The Magician's Nephew" which was first published in 1955 and serves as a prequel to the series, 1000 years before The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, and features the creation of Narnia through Aslan.

Partridge is currently also attached to star in Noah Baumbach's upcoming film at Netflix, which Gerwig is also starring in.

In February, Netflix's CEO talked about Greta Gerwig's new Narnia films, saying her adaptations will be "rooted in faith", which will come as no surprise to those familiar with Gerwig's work.

The director behind Lady Bird, Little Women, and Barbie has had an incredible few years, finding all three of her films at the Oscars.

Fans of her work have been eagerly anticipating what she will add to the beloved Chronicles of Narnia series, and now we have our first taste of what's to come, we can't wait to hear more.
