Former college basketball star and popular influencer Haley Cavinder is now engaged to Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson.
Ferguson, 26, and Cavinder, 24, have been together since fall 2023. Since then, they've frequently been seen on each other's social media pages, and Cavinder regularly traveled to watch Ferguson play for the Cowboys, with him returning the favor during her final seasons of college hoops at the University of Miami this year.
On Thursday, Ferguson popped the question the beach. Cavinder shared a closeup photo of the ring on her Instagram story, and ESPN included it, along with a video of the two of them together celebrating, in an Instagram post.

Last season, Ferguson caught 59 passes for 494 yards while being limited by injuries. The previous year, he posted career-highs in all three major receiving categories, catching 71 passes for 761 yards and five touchdowns.
Cavinder, meanwhile, was a standout in her fifth and final season of college basketball, averaging 18.2 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game for the Hurricanes. She played alongside her twin sister Hanna, who was her teammate at Miami and Fresno State.
The two twins sat out the 2023-24 season after helping Miami reach the 2023 Elite Eight, but ultimately decided to return for their last season of eligibility.
Cavinder and Ferguson have been publicly supportive of each other's careers since "hard launching" in 2023, though Cavinder admitted in January 2024 she had some struggles adjusting to dating another well-known athlete.
“I’m a confident girl, but when people are saying stuff about you — if you have a boyfriend and someone is talking about you online with your boyfriend… like coming at your features — I’m like, this is new and obviously Jake is a great guy, but you don’t want to be called ugly on the internet 24/7, and your boyfriend sees it," Cavinder said, via the New York Post. "That’s not going to make anyone feel cool.
“So I had a mental breakdown, but that was a while ago. Honestly, I’m very confident and comfortable sharing my relationship because Jake was very loud about it… He was always like that so it made me feel very comfortable and confident sharing him as well… He’s a big part of my life and will continue so it’s not something that I [want to] keep private. I go to Cowboys games and he’ll be at my games.”
Congratulations to Haley and Jake!
