Jonah Winston has locked in an Aug. 14 commitment date.

Winston attends Hoover High School in Alabama, and he is a 2026 football prospect who is considered an athlete. He will decide between Florida State,  Arkansas, Maryland and others in August. The Hoover product told Touchdown Alabama he is considering the schools that have treated him like he belongs.

“I am prioritizing the schools treating me like family, great academics and development and preparation for the next level,” Winston said.

Several of these programs have hosted Winston in the past, and he plans to see several of them during the 2025 season.

“I have attended games at Florida State, Mississippi State and Auburn over the course of my high school recruitment,” Winston told Touchdown Alabama. “I plan to take official visits during the season.”

Winston has a special bond with the Florida State staff. His brother, Jameis, won the Heisman Trophy and led the Seminoles to a National Championship victory before getting drafted as No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.

“My relationship with Florida State is one of a kind,” Winston said. “Coach Odell (Haggins) basically watched me grow up. I talk to Coach (Austin) Tucker the most. My relationship with him is real good. Then there is Coach (Mike) Norvell and it is never a dull conversation with him.”

Winston is a dynamic playmaker for the Hoover Bucs at multiple positions.
