Jay Lindsey has signed a National Letter of Intent to play football at the University of Alabama. Lindsey attends Patrician Academy in Butler, Alabama, and he is listed as a three-star recruit on multiple recruiting sites. He will enroll at Alabama in the summer. The in-state recruit was once committed to Mississippi State, but he flipped his commitment to the Crimson Tide. “Over time, even before I had an offer from Alabama, I started getting really close with the coaches that recruited me,” Lindsey told Touchdown Alabama, “Even though I was committed to Mississippi State, they continued to recruit me and for the most part, Alabama was the only school still recruiting me while I was committed. So, I think the relationship and bond that I have with the coaches at Alabama definitely pushed me towards choosing Alabama, but hey who wouldn’t want to play for Alabama? I’ve been a fan my whole life, and it’s been a dream of mine to be able to play in Bryant-Denny.” Lindsey is listed at 6-foot-4 and 235 pounds. He is disruptive as an edge rusher on defense, and he is an all-around tight end on offense. Patrician Academy’s offense allows Lindsey to show off his versatile skillset. He is a physical and dominant blocker as a tight end. He also possesses a nice vertical, which allows him to go up and pull down contested catches. His strong frame makes him tough to bring down after the catch.
