Jelly Fam Season Preview

Enter Jermel “Mel Mel” Thomas who is set to be one of the new faces of OTE this season. Mel Mel is a 6-2, three-star point guard who is ranked just outside the top 100 in the class of 2026. Thomas is a pure bucket-getter who also has a knack for throwing some of the nastiest dime OTE has ever seen

Outside of Mel Mel, Jelly Fam also added rangy forward Logan Alexander, who is a 6-8, three-star forward in the class of 2025. Alexander attacks the rim with a ferocity that is difficult to stop while he also displays elite footwork and length on the defensive end

While Jelly Fam suffered some major departures they also brought back some key contributors from last season’s second round team. Jordan Skyers looks to step into a bigger role this season as one of the team’s lead guards, a role he showed flashes of being more than comfortable taking over. In the single-elimination, first round game of the playoffs, Skyers led the team in scoring with 20 points while also ripping away four steals. In addition to Skyers, Jelly Fam also returns guard Yandel German and big man Eyilayomi Odetoyinbo 

There are some big shoes to fill across the Jelly Fam roster but the elevated play of their returners and the infusion of new talent might just be enough to elevate them to new heights

Jelly Fam kicks off their season on Friday, November 1 at 8:30 PM against the Diamond Doves in Lincolnton, NC
