Jordan Brand Confirms OG 'Grape' 5 Release Date for 2025

Sneaker fans, get ready and mark your calendars for April 19, as Jordan Brand is set to release the iconic Grape colorway of the Jordan 5. This drop celebrates the 35th anniversary of the Jordan 5, offering a nostalgic look back at its original debut in 1990. 

Expected to be set at $210 USD via House of Heat, the Grape colorway is among several Jordan 5s set to release this year, including the 'Fire Red' colorway, A Ma Manière collaboration, and the  AWAKE colorway. Jordan fans are eating this year as its relentless drop of fan favorites such as the OG 5s. 

A significant detail in this release is the return of the "Nike Air" branding on the heel of the shoe, a feature absent in the 2006 and 2013 pairs. With this detail, the release marks the first true-to-original version of the Grape colorway since its initial debut. 

Beyond its slick look, the Grape colorway is a staple in pop culture. Michael Jordan famously sported the sneaker on a Wheaties box cover, solidifying its legendary status among fans. In addition to the Wheaties box appearance, the sneaker gained massive recognition through Will Smith’s character in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, where it made multiple appearances in episodes, blending 90s hip-hop culture with fashion. 

As April 19 approaches, anticipation within the sneaker community continues to build, as this release is expected to be one of the standout drops Jordan Brand has to offer this year.
