Juventus have officially purchased Joao Mario from FC Porto for €11.4m plus €1.2m in ancillary costs, as part of the deal taking Alberto Costa the other way.
The transfer was completed today after he underwent his medical tests and put pen to paper on a contract until June 2030.
A statement confirmed the precise details of the move, which is at a cost of €11.4m plus a further €1.2m in ancillary costs, taking the total fee to €12.6m.
This will be payable over the period of four financial years.
Joao Mario had been part of the FC Porto youth academy and progressed to the senior squad, making 42 competitive appearances for the team last season, where he contributed seven assists.
The 25-year-old is a right-back who can also play in more advanced roles in midfield or as part of a trident attack if required.
As part of the double deal, Alberto Costa is heading to FC Porto in a separate transfer worth €16m.
This is a profit, considering he was only purchased from Vitoria Guimaraes for €12.5m in January.
