Kirk Herbstreit Reacts to ESPN 'College GameDay' Announcement

Kirk Herbstreit and the ESPN "College GameDay" crew have traveled cross-country throughout the 2024-25 college football season, previewing some of the biggest games of the year. 

In Week 12, "College GameDay" hosted a live show in Athens, Georgia, for a matchup between the Georgia Bulldogs and Tennessee Volunteers. 

Following their trip to Athens, ESPN's PR department revealed that "College GameDay's" Week 12 show earned an average of 2.0 million viewers and 2.6 million viewers in the final hour of the episode. 

Herbstreit took to social media on Tuesday after the news was revealed. He shared a thankful message to college football fans, while sending an excited comment about the show's Week 13 plans. 

"Thankful for such passionate fans!" Herbstreit said. "See ya this week in Columbus!!"

ESPN "College GameDay" host Rece Davis also took to social media after the network's assignment, thanking college football fans for their continued support. 

"Thanks to the people who love and live this sport," Davis said. "Working now on concept for College Football Playoff discussion that will surely lead to strong takes. Going to be awesome Ohio State this as Indiana rolls in. Can’t wait to see everyone Saturday morning!"

Herbstreit, Davis and the rest of the "College GameDay" crew are headed to Columbus, Ohio in Week 13 for a matchup between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Indiana Hoosiers. 

Ohio State (9-1) heads into the game as a 13.5-point favorite, per ESPN BET, over the (10-0) Hoosiers.
