Lady Rebels remain atop the Mountain West

The UNLV Lady Rebels remained undefeated and atop the Mountain West with a 74-48 win over Fresno State on Wednesday at the Save Mart Center.

The Lady Rebels are 16-4, 8-0 in the Mountain West, and are also on a 22-game win streak on the road in the Mountain West play.

Meadow Roland led the Lady Rebels, scoring 16 points in front of a hometown crowd.

She went 6-for-7 from the floor, 2-for-2 from the 3-point line, and she sank two free throws. Roland also led the Lady Rebels in rebounding with seven.

Aaliyah Alexander and McKinna Brackens added 11 points each in the win. Kiara Jackson dished out five assists, which led the team.

Fresno State (12-8,3-4 MW) was led by Mia Jacobs, scoring 13 points. Mariah Elohim scored 8 points, and Maria Konstantinidou led the Bulldogs in rebounding, grabbing eight.

The Lady Rebels started off slow, down 17-16 in the first 10 minutes. In the second, the Lady Rebels turned up the heat and went on a 12-2 run to take a 30-21 lead and continued to keep their foot on the gas.

The Lady Rebels dominated the Bulldogs in the second quarter, outscoring them 27-10.

The Lady Rebels had their best shooting game this season, shooting 52.7 percent from the floor.

On the road again, the Lady Rebels head to San Diego State on Saturday at 1 p.m.

This matchup will be the first meeting this season between the two teams.
