Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky made their return to the WNBA court on Friday, defeating the Brazil national team 89-62 on LSU's campus, her alma mater.

Following the preseason opener, Reese had kept busy leading up to her 23rd birthday on Tuesday. She enjoyed a night out with friends following the win over Brazil before attending the 2025 Met Gala in New York City on Monday. She also helped set up a partnership with Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson.

On Monday night, Johnson announced on Instagram that his Magic Johnson Foundation has partnered with the Angel Reese Foundation.

"The @magicjohnsonfoundation in partnership with the @angelreesefoundation and @pullupneighbor launched the Wealth Playbook, a financial literacy program in Baltimore, MD!"

Along with Pull Up Neighbor, an advertising and marketing firm, the two foundations "launched the Wealth Playbook—a 4-session financial literacy program built to help high school seniors understand the basics of financial literacy and how to build and maintain wealth for the long term."

The first session was at St. Frances Academy, an independent high school in Baltimore, Maryland, Reese's hometown. Students in attendance "learned about budgeting, credit, and how to take control of their financial futures."

Johnson founded The Magic Johnson Foundation in 1991, "developing programs and supporting community-based organizations that address the educational, health, and social needs of ethnically diverse, urban communities."

Similarly, the Angel Reese Foundation helps "foster equity for girls and underrepresented groups through innovative and impactful initiatives."

"I wanted to launch my foundation to foster equal opportunities for young women where they have been overlooked," Reese said.

Reese and the Sky will be back in action on Tuesday night, facing the Minnesota Lynx in their final preseason game of 2025.
