During Round 13 of the 2025 NRL season, the Manly Sea Eagles defeated the Brisbane Broncos 34-6 at 4 Pines Park.
The win helped Manly get closer to the top eight, while the Broncos have struggled to stay in form.
Manly took the lead right away and performed admirably throughout the game. Lehi Hopoate filled in as fullback when Tom Trbojevic was unable to play, and he gave the Sea Eagles an extremely strong and thrilling performance.
Early on, Manly took the lead thanks to Reuben Garrick and Raymond Tuaimalo Vaega, who took advantage of holes in the Broncos' defense. The Sea Eagles led the Storm by a significant margin in the first half thanks to Garrick's precise kicks.
After a clever punt from Gehamat Shibasaki, Ezra Mam scored a try to give the Broncos the lead. After experiencing rapid growth, Brisbane had a brief but discernible decline in momentum.
Mam allowed Manly's Faulalo his try by failing to secure the ball, which resulted in a knock-on in an offensive play, widening the gap.
Manly's defense becomes even more formidable in the second half, preventing the Broncos from making much progress. Despite the absence of Jason Saab and Jake Trbojevic, Manly demonstrated their depth and excellent collaboration.
The backs were able to exploit the additional space because the forwards controlled the middle of the pitch. The Broncos lost for the fourth time in a row because they were unable to score any points against Manly's defense.
From the beginning to the end of the game, Manly showed their ability to overcome the odds and keep applying pressure. While the Broncos need to improve and regain consistency, the Sea Eagles are looking forward to the challenge as the season goes on.
