As the college football offseason continues to move on, many programs are making big pushes to land some of the top talent in the 2026 recruiting class.
Some of the biggest names have already chosen where they will be starting their collegiate careers, but one player who remains open is quarterback Landon Duckworth out of Jackson, Alabama.
However, his decision may be coming soon, as his choices have been narrowed down to five schools , including the South Carolina Gamecocks, the Ole Miss Rebels, the Auburn Tigers, the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Florida State Seminoles.
Of course, only one team will be lucky enough to secure his talents, and in a prediction made on Monday, by On3's Pete Nakos, he has Duckworth committing to South Carolina.
Of course, this would be huge for the Gamecocks, as On3 Industry Rankings place him as a four-star recruit, the No. 6 quarterback, the No. 4 player in Alabama and the No. 61 player in the nation.
Last season for Jackson High School, Duckworth was extremely impressive, appearing in 15 games, completing 162-of-243 passes for 3,439 yards, 39 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, as well as 648 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns.
However, he's certainly still weighing his options, taking an official visit with Auburn on May 30, while still having one scheduled with South Carolina (June 6), Florida State (June 13) and Ole Miss (June 20).
If Nakos is right, though, and Duckworth lands with the Gamecocks, he would be joining a solid recruiting class, which has five commitments and ranks No. 23 in the nation, per On3.
