Four Big 12 softball teams will criss-cross the country this weekend to play in super regional action in the NCAA Softball Tournament, all with their eye on advancing to the Women’s College World Series.

All four teams — Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, UCF and Arizona State — will be on the road for supers. They’ll need to win two games in a best-of-three series to advance to the WCWS. The conference has four prime opportunities to secure a berth the biggest show in softball.

Texas Tech reached the WCWS last year for the first time in program history and advanced to the best-of-three championship series where it lost to Texas. Oklahoma State didn’t go to the WCWS last year but had been to the five previous tournaments in Oklahoma City. Both are prime contenders to get there again.

Arizona State won the Big 12 Tournament, and it has been on a hot streak for the past several weeks. UCF advanced to super regionals for just the second time in program history and will go all the way across the country to seek a trip to OKC.

Here are the games times and a short preview of each series.

Gainesville Super Regional

No. 6 Florida vs. No. 11 Texas Tech

Friday, May 22 – 10 a.m. – ESPN2

Saturday, May 23 – 11:30 a.m. – ABC

Sunday, May 24 – TBD (if necessary)

Texas Tech needed a miraculous comeback on Saturday to beat Ole Miss, a once-in-a-lifetime event in softball. Then the Red Raiders dismantled the Rebels on Sunday to advance without losing a game in Lubbock. Texas Tech has one of the best overall teams in softball but Florida will have a home-field advantage.

Lincoln Super Regional

No. 4 Nebraska vs. No. 13 Oklahoma State

Thursday, May 21 – 8 p.m. – ESPN2

Friday, May 22 – 4 p.m. – ESPN2

Saturday, May 23 – 4 p.m. (if necessary) – ESPN

Ruby Meylan took the victory in both of Oklahoma State’s wins over Stanford last weekend as the Cowgirls advanced to super regionals without losing a game in Stillwater.

Oklahoma State may have the hottest hitting team in the country right now. The Cowgirls beat Stanford on Sunday, 11-5, on the strength of home runs from Amanda Hasler and Claire Timm. Nebraska enters the series having won 24 games in a row.

Austin Super Regional

No. 2 Texas vs. Arizona State

Friday, May 22 – 8 p.m. – ESPN2

Saturday, May 23 – 6 p.m. – ESPN

Sunday, May 24 – TBD (if necessary)

Arizona State was never rivals in the Big 12 with either Texas or Texas A&M, but that didn’t stop the Sun Devils from claiming an emotionally charged regional final victory over Texas A&M on Sunday. Now, the red-hot Sun Devils had a chance to upend the defending national champions in Austin. Secretly, every long-time, non-Texas Big 12 fan will be watching this series closely.

Los Angeles Super Regional

No. 8 UCLA vs. UCF

Friday, May 22 – 8 p.m. – ESPNU

Saturday, May 23 – 8 p.m. – ESPN

Sunday, May 24 – TBD (if necessary)

No Big 12 team drew a worse travel schedule than the nights, who must go from Orlando to Los Angeles to play their best-of-three series with the UCLA Bruins. But, this is a tough UCF team that had to play two games on Sunday to get out of regionals after they beat Florida State on Sunday afternoon. The Knights are used to doing things the hard way and this will be their hardest series of the season to date.
