The New Orleans Saints upgraded their offensive line to kick off their 2025 NFL Draft. Texas Longhorns offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. is headed to The Big Easy for Kellen Moore's squad.
After that pick, where does New Orleans need to look to improve their roster on day two of the draft?
As of now, there is plenty of unknown involving Derek Carr. There is a legitimate chance that he will never play another snap for the Saints due to multiple factors. New Orleans chose not to take a quarterback in round one, which was a good choice.
Now, they could look to the day two QB prospects, particularly Tyler Shough, Shedeur Sanders, or Jalen Milroe - potentially.
The Saints still need another piece to the passing game. A bigger-body target, especially at WR, may make the most sense for New Orleans. Keep your eye out on Jayden Higgins, Elic Ayomanor, Savion Williams, and a few others for the Saints on day two.
The Saints' secondary is quite thin and inexperienced at CB. Kool-Aid McKinstry is expected to start outside in his second year, and Alontae Taylor will play a starting role as well. New Orleans has not replaced Marshon Lattimore as of yet, and they could look to add a cornerback in round two or three.
It would be a smart decision to do exactly that.
Many folks thought the Saints may address their pass rush in round one. I never felt like that was very likely, but it was on the table. Now, they could use another defneisv lineman, interior or off the edge, who can get to the quarterback sometime on day two. Depth behind Chase Young, Cameron Jordan, and others needs to improve.
We will see how the Saints HC Kellen Moore navigates day two of the 2025 NFL Draft. Who do you think New Orleans should pick?
